Valentin Belaud was born in 1992 in Chesnay. He is training full-time at the French National Sport, Expertise and Performance Institute (INSEP). Before becoming one of the best world pentathlete, Valentin was an outstanding rider. At the age of 10, he joined the cadets of the Republican Guard.
Last May, in Moscow, Valentin won gold at the World championship, first time for a French since 1998.
At the Rio Olympic Games this summer, Valentin finished at the twentieth place in the general ranking. For now, he is training to get prepared to win the gold medal at the next Olympic Games, in Tokyo in 2020.
