Jeannie Longo was born in 1958 in Annecy (France). She started her career by skiing before turning to cycling at the age of 20. From then, she pursued a successful career: four Olympic medals, including a gold one, thirteen World champion’s rainbow jersey, three crowns won on the women Tour de France et broke no less than 38 world records. In 2011, at the age of 53, she became time-trial France champion. Besides, in 2011, French people elected her as their favourite sporty woman (according to l’Equipe magazine survey). Her energy and great longevity can be explained by her strict dietetic food. She even wrote a book about this topic “Vivre en Forme”. Jeannie Longo is also known for her outspokenness and her commitment for the environmental preservation.
